Description

We are a team of passionate individuals that formed a virtual team to take Accessibility on the road. Our goal is to make individuals pause to think about Accessibility, reflect on who they can empower within their circle by making their world more inclusive through Accessibility and how they can leverage technology to achieve that goal. 

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this session, learners will be able to:

  • Understand how Microsoft thinks about Accessibility for all.
  • Demonstrations of Accessibility features in Microsoft products: Immersive Reader, Ease of Access Settings, Dictate, Teams Captions, Outlook. Accessibility, Accessibility Checker, Accessibility Insights.
  • Close out resources: Accessibility in Action badge, continuing their journey with resources available, and staying connected through LinkedIn)

Presenters

Deepthi Kapila, Yesh Naidu, and Carolina Mesa Fernandez

Deepthi – I am passionate about enabling people – my customers, my team, my family – achieve their goals. I enjoy solving ambiguous business problems and thrive in building collaborative, trust-based teams. In my current role as the Digital Leader for Microsoft Digital Stores – Americas, I am accountable for delighting our customers – both consumers and small businesses – who come to learn about and buy technology from Microsoft.com. I am also passionate about volunteering in the Education space – helping Elementary school students with Math & Reading to mentorship to undergrad/grad students. 

Carolina – When I started learning more about accessibility, it became a passion project as I really enjoy helping people be the best they can. In my current role as Business Manager, I get to work with multidisciplinary teams all over the world on all types of projects, from creating new processes to mapping and improving the customer journey; I am a disciplined and proactive person. I love scuba diving, traveling and spending time with my family. 

Yesh – I am passionate about collaboration and Diversity & Inclusion. Over the past 7 years I’ve worked across various roles with Microsoft, including demonstrating solutions to strategic customers and B2B sales enablement. In my current role I am accountable for empowering the US Commercial business with Microsoft solutions. I also enjoy supporting local Non-Profits recently in New York such as the Young Adult Institute, an organization that provides innovative services for the I/DD (intellectual and/or developmental disabilities) community and now in Seattle where I reside.
