Describing Visual Resources Toolkit

The Describing Visual Resources Toolkit was created by Stephanie Rosen and participants in a 2016 workshop at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. It is maintained by the University of Michigan Library.

The toolkit is designed to provide authors, editors, publishers, and art organizations with the “how” and “why” of describing visual resources to make them more accessible.

In addition to guidelines for description, the toolkit includes examples, exceptions, and links to external resources for visual resource description.
